Vessel Operations

ØMonitor and handle all operation and documentation requirements for the spot and/or period fleet.
ØMaintain continuous updating of the vessels’ operational records, files and databases.
ØProcess and ensure compliance with CP and/or TCP requirements and company procedures and that all relevant operational information is communicated among parties under the contract.
ØMonitor and record all details of voyage performance including off-hire, stoppages, delays and other details for the vessels’ performance reports.
ØLiaise with the commercial department concerning any information requirements, requests, questionnaires, certification, invoicing (freight, hire and commissions) and scheduling of vessels, if required.
ØPlans voyages of assigned vessels including cargoes, fuel management, agency nominations and operational considerations.
ØDay-to-day communications with Masters on board the vessels.
ØPrepares voyage economics as necessary to support decisions.
ØIssues orders to vessels, brokers or direct to owners as appropriate giving full instructions and all pertinent information.
ØAdministrates voyages with respect to the terms and conditions of the governing charter party. Initiates claims for cargo, vessel and commercial claims.

Port Operations

ØMaintain close communication and cooperation with owners/charterers, being on top of port congestion, change of rotation and/or cargo stows, port line-ups, etc.
ØEnsure smooth loading/discharging operations; expedited vessels in port; liaised with port agents and authorities; and coordinated with owners/charterers to ensure win-win outcomes.
ØEnsure that all cargo and stability information is available, paying particular attention to the allowed max drafts and load-line requirements that will be encountered on the route.
ØEnsure compliance with contractual specifications for the quantity and quality of the Hydrocarbons; and compliance with standards, agreements and good practices throughout the loading and discharging operations.
ØInvestigation of ports of call such as restriction, condition, congestion, and schedule.

Cargo Handling and Claims

ØStrong industry knowledge, commercial awareness and understanding of industry standards and their commercial and operational impact, as well as market trends/drivers, competitor markets and refinery operations in the area of responsibility.
ØUnderstanding of refinery operations, Shipping markets, Charter-parties, Incoterms and marine operations.
ØThorough understanding of demurrage and the potential commercial impact.
ØKnowledge of oil product specifications, including regional differences and requirements.
ØChecking shipping documents, such as Bills of Lading, Statements of Facts, etc .

Cost and Productivity Control

ØManaging port agencies’ and surveyors’ costs and costs for other vendors.
ØArranging pre-payment of port disbursement account to port agents and settlement after completion of each voyage.
ØConstantly working to optimise voyages and berthing schedules, and minimise all costs including dead freight and demurrage and all cargo vessel-associated costs.
ØArranging necessary materials for voyages / appointing agents at ports.
ØProvide Clients with analysis of voyage performances including opportunities for further optimization to increase final voyage results.
